There are some common misconceptions in regards to residual income. I run across this all the time. People feel and think they are building true residual income when in essence they are not. They are really just selling their products or services on a monthly basis, still trading time for money, just like any normal job.

Let me explain,

To understand what I am talking about you first must really understand true residual income. Residual income means you earn income over and over again, month after month, day after day, from one single occurrence or event. This even could be the sale of a product. However, not every product can creates true residual income.

Here are some examples of residual income:

• Income from rental property.
  You rent the unit and every month they send you money.
  There is no thought or decision being made, they know they pay you or they don’t have a roof over their head.
• Income from a loan or note, you loan money and every month they send you a payment with interest.
• Income from a required monthly service you provide or sell.
  This has to be something someone needs and can’t live without!
  IE: bookkeeping, accounting, cell phone, home phone, utilities, etc.

It is only true residual income if the service is required, and paid for month after month without question, thought, interaction or decision.

This is where people get it wrong.

Selling an unneeded consumable product like a juice, vitamin, lotion or potion cannot and does not create true residual income.

Here is why.

Each month when it come times to pay that bill or buy that product the consumer makes  a conscious decision whether or not to send that check and continue on that product.

This means the product is resold each and every month. Maybe you don’t actually do the selling, maybe you do, that doesn’t matter.

The fact is that a decision is made every month. Is this actually worth the $XX I am spending for this product or service. If the answer is no your income is gone.

To create true residual income you have to provide a needed or required service, a service or product that is paid for each and every month without question.

I know when my mortgage, cell phone, satellite TV, gas and electric bills come in, they are paid every month, no questions asked.

There products and services not only create true residual but they create recession proof residual income. Income, that cannot and will not be affected by the state of the economy.

Let’s face it when times get tough, that autoship of your juice product, nutritional doo dad, lotion or potion is going to be the first expense your customer quits buying.

I know one thing for sure, if times were to get hard for me, I’m not ever going to quit paying my cell phone, internet, gas, electric, or satellite TV. IF I had two bills in front of me, a credit card bill and cell phone bill you can guess which one I am paying.

Now if everyone we know uses these services and pays for these services every month doesn’t it make sense to earn residual income by simply being the middle man for these services?

Of course it does.

It is very likely right now your Monavie upline is looking at other opportunities. Not because MonaVie is a bad company or because the product is poor. The fact is a lot of large income earners in MonaVie are seeing greater than normal amount of attrition.

This higher than normal attrition is largely due to the poor economy.

In any network marketing company there is a lot of attrition. Why? Because is network marketing is hard, it’s not for everyone. Most people who join have great intentions and then their life gets in the way. Or they lose excitement and motivation before they ever get going.

Companies like MonaVie have high attrition rate because of the expensive auto ship. Most people aren’t going to pay $100 bucks a month for a juice they really don’t want or need, unless they are making money. Herein lies the problem it takes time to make money in a company like Monavie.

I personally know a few large income earners in Monavie who are considering making a move. I have also heard through the grape vine some of these large income earners have seen a decrease of over 50% in their monthly commissions.

WOW! That’s not residual…..

What these guys are looking at is a company called ACN.

This could be a huge week for you.

The kind of week you look back on as a pivotal turning point in your life.

I know that’s a big promise. But I can deliver. Stick with me for 3 minutes. I’ll explain:

As I approach my wedding anniversary on July 22,

It brings back memories of a serious crisis in my fife.

I was out of work and just released from the hospital after a very bad motorcycle accident. I had no insurance, hospital bills were a mile high, we had no clue how bad it was going to get.  I remember vividly looking at my daughter and thinking how innocent she was, how special she was and that she deserved better.

I knew right then I had to do whatever it took to provide for this life I had brought into the world and be sure she didn’t suffer or have to live a life I would regret. I would love to say I was an instant success.

But, as you know that’s not what happened, the next 5 years really tested me, I was actually going backwards. With no direction or mentor to keep me on a straight path, I lost a tremendous amount of money putting me deeper and deeper in debt.

Five years later circa 2006, I thought I found the answer. I found a so called mentor who was a huge success, he was actually the top income earner in two companies, some of you will know instantly who I am talking about. For this purpose we will just call him MR BS.

I thought my prayers had been answered. Mr. BS told me on the phone if I joined him in both companies he would teach me exactly what he does and how to duplicate his success. He claimed he would make sure I found success. Bingo, finally, exactly what I needed.

I scrapped up the total of 1k and joined him in both companies. As you can guess, I never talked to him again. He never returned my calls, never gave me any of the help he promised and he left me worse off than I was before. I was devastated, so close to quitting and never trying again. I almost settled for a life of mediocrity.

I really had to dig deep for the motivation to go on. It was my family that kept me treading water. They were and still are my why.

I knew I was smarter than this guy. If this idiot with no integrity can be successful, then so can I, I just needed to know what he knew and then needed to do what he did.

So I started to research where he was advertising,
What he was saying, what he was doing, ETC

I basically was stalking his every move.
After copying his every move, I finally started to see some results. It was working!

This went on for a few months my income was growing monthly, 4k, 8k, 15k, 25k and then it started going backwards, 12k 7k 1k and the next month the company disappeared.  Once again I was devastated.

The next few years were more of the same, find a company, build a great team watch the company fall apart, and lose my income. It was a vicious cycle.

I was making great money, but I had not found something solid, something I could pass on to my children. If I wasn’t working I wasn’t making money.

This was not freedom.
This was not what I wanted.

I was simply trading time for money, like any normal job. I was not building residual.

I finally realized the problem was not me or my methods, it was the companies and products I choose to associate with.

Once I realized this I scoured the industry looking for a long term solution,

Something with integrity, something that made sense
Something that anyone could instantly see value in

And….finally I found it!
I found a home, something I’m going to pass on to my children.

Let’s get right to it, here they are:

• Improve yourself:

Wow, where do I start on this one. First it is important to understand that you and you alone are the deciding factor as to whether you succeed in anything. Don’t try to push the blame on your sponsor, your product, upline, whatever. If you don’t have the skills it is up to you to learn them. If you aren’t getting the knowledge you need from your upline it is up to you to get it from somewhere else. Your motivation and your intense desire to succeed are extremely important to your success.

This module will cover everything you need to know to improve your inner you. Right now it is very unlikely you have the skills to be successful or you would already be successful.

• Block out distractions:

Distractions can and will come from many places. Some of the biggest can and will come from those the closest to you. Naturally these are the hardest ones to overcome. Nay sayers are everywhere, in this module we will show you how to distance yourself from the nay sayers and stay on a focused path to success.

Here is a quick tip. Don’t take financial advice someone who has not achieved the kind of success you are looking to achieve in the manner you are looking to achieve it. For me, I listen to billionaires and simply forget what my broke family and so called friends have to say. • Know your WHY?

Know your why! And don’t let your why become your why not. This is the fuel that will keep you going. You have to have stronger aspirations than just wealth or free time. Wealth by itself is not enough to keep you going when times get tough. Dig deep find your exact why that will drive you harder than ever before. In this module we will be show you how to find your true why, and how to find your prospects why as well.

Knowing your prospects and downlines why’s also very large keys to your success. You can use these whys to keep them motivated and keep them engaged. Network marketing is more about helping others succeed. If you help enough people succeed you will realize more wealth than you can possibly imagine.

• Vehicle (Company or Product)

Some of you are going to be shocked by what I am going to say. Success in Network is not really dependant on the company or product. I know you think I am nuts, hear me out.

Yes some companies are better than others, yes some products are better than others, but most any company or product, providing it meets key criteria can take you to your promised land. Think of this as a car, naturally the Yugo is not going to get you there as fast a Lear Jet. But a Yugo can still get you there.

Now think about this what if you hop in the Jet and have no clue how to drive it, even worse, maybe no one there can teach you to drive it. Guess what you will never make it. But if you know how to drive the Yogo and have help and support to keep it maintained along the way you will make it there.

In this module I will show you how find and pick the Lear Jet companies and how to find the right people to teach you how to fly that jet to your promised land.

• Team / Sponsor

Now this one is important, probably the most important of all! Because the right sponsor can help you learn every one of these principals and make them yours. This my friends is the key to success. The right sponsor can and will keep you motivated and assure you are going in the right direction; they will pick you up when you are down and celebrate with you when you are up.

In this module I will show you what to look for in a sponsor and how to make sure you choose a good one.

• Personal Branding

People follow leaders, unless you become a leader and show people you are a leader you have no chance of great success. Here is why, people love Google it is the mecca of information both good and bad. Rest assured when someone is considering joining you or your team they Google you. You need a solid and professional web presence that they can and will find.

In this module I am going to share many methods of personal branding and what you should be doinging on a regular basis to assure you have a solid web presence.

• Proven System

This one should come naturally when you find the right sponsor. Since I am going to teach you how to find the right sponsor you will fall into a proven system. Just keep in mind to find success beyond your wildest dreams your system needs to be something that anyone no matter where they come from can accomplish. If the weakest link in your team cannot duplicate your chances for success are very slim. They key to duplication is strong team environment with regular trainings, on Local, National, and International levels.

In this module I am going to show how to find a sponsor with a proven system, What to look for and even how you can adapt your current system and make it more efficient.

• Internet Marketing

The Internet has changed not only network marketing but business advertising in general. With the invention of digital video recorders, IE: TIVO, Facebook, Twitter, less and less people are watching commercials, more and more people are turning to the internet for entertainment.  If your business is going to succeed in the 21st Century you will need to be advertising on the Internet. The good news is there are a lot of resources for advertising that are 100% free and yes they do work.

In this module I am going to show many different methods of Internet marketing and exactly how to make them work for you. You will learn the ins and outs of Facebook, Twitter, Pay Per Click, and how to use these resources to generate 100’s of hot prospects who are interested in what you are providing.

• Be Realistic

Network marketing is not “get rich quick”. It takes times time, energy and great effort to be successful. You will need to find a company team and product you like and stick with it. Stay focused. It has been said if you stay focused and stick with the same company for 10 years you will be successful beyond your wildest dreams. I know many people who have done this and have the success to prove it. This doesn’t mean you won’t be making money along the way. What you have to keep in mind is the first year or two, you will probably be making less money for more work than you ever have before in your life. This is your training, your education, your degree if you will.

This is one module you do not want to miss! I will deeply explain different companies, products and trading time for money. I will also give you important tips, tricks and ideas for moving on even when you want to quit.

• Know what to say and know what not to say.

Ninety percent of missed opportunity and failure to recruit people into your business is because we say too much. Networking is a “Monkey See Monkey Do”. Whatever you say and do your prospects will think they have to say and do. If you are speaking technical with all the details, they think to themselves “Wow I couldn’t do that” and they are instantly turned off. Duplication will not happen unless the weakest link on your team can learn to do what you do.

In this module I will explain in detail what to say and what not to say. I will also teach you when to use your knowledge and skills and when to sit back and say, “That’s a great question, I don’t know, but Rob knows everything there is to know about this and he will know for sure. Let me see if I can get him on the line. Hold on one second.”

• Be Prospecting 24 / 7

If you have been in this industry for any time I am sure you have heard of the 3 foot rule. Well forget it! The three foot rule does not make much sense to me. For me it’s the 50 yard rule or, The anyone you see anywhere is a prospect rule. One of the biggest income earners in my company was a working at New York, New York Casino in Vegas when he was approached about the business. You never know who your next superstar will be or where they come from.

In this module I will show you how to approach people that you don’t know and professionally show them your business. We will also cover casual conversation and how to connect with your old friends who you have not talked to in years.

• Step outside of your comfort zone

You will need to step outside of your comfort zone to be successful. Be prepared to do what it takes and do things you don’t want to do. The reward is well worth it. You need to learn and adapt to your business. You more than likely do not have the skill set it takes to be successful in networking. So you will need to learn it. You can’t watch an episode of ER and then run down to the hospital and start chopping people up. Don’t expect to do that in networking either. You will have to learn to get a no and move on. You will get way more no’s than yeses, No’s are actually a good thing they put you that much closer to your next yes. You will also have to stop worrying about what people think. Your reward will come with your success. Donald Trump actually said direct selling is one of the most respected professions. There is no reason to not be proud of what you are doing.

In this module I will cover some tricks of the trade to help overcome some of the comfort zone issues. I will help you find the reward and move forward to your final goals.

Once again ACN has over delivered at their international training and convention. I know, know, you have all been to trainings and seen the value. You have also been excited upon leaving.

All I can say is wow.

The longer I am involved with ACN the more I am impressed with them and all of the reps.

In case you don’t know what  I am talking about, ACN invaded Cleveland Ohio with it’s latest international Training Event and Conference. Over 20k people packed into Quicken Loans arena to learn how to explode their ACN business. The information presented was nothing short of amazing. I was floored by how much information was delivered and by the overall value of the training provided.

At every ACN event like this they raise money money for the local Ronald McDonald house. Since this event was in Cleveland the local chapter received the donation. The training event is a 3 day event. ACN takes donations from the attendees all weekend at the end of the third day they tally up how much was actually donated by the reps. Then the company matches the reps donations and submits a check to the RMD House.

I am pleased to let you all know this event raised 117,000.00 for the Cleveland Ronald McDonald House. This is just another reason why ACN is the greatest opportunity available.

It is no secret our declining economy has hit everyone. Millions are out of work and its likely millions more will lose their jobs over the next 6 to 12 months. Those who are still working or retired have also been hit hard. Some retirement and investment accounts have declined by more than 50% over the last 3 years.

We surely can’t rely on our government to fix these problems and provide for our retirement. The only smart thing to do is to take action and learn to provide for ourselves.

To assure long term success we must focus on creating recession proof income. There are a few keys to creating recession proof residual income.

First you need to provide products and services people need, use and cannot live without. Products and services that no matter how bad it gets, they will continue to use and pay for month after month. To find these services look at your own monthly expenses and see what bills you pay monthly that you cannot or would not do without. I see; my satellite TV, my home phone, my cell phone, my internet connection, my gas bill, my electric bill, etc. These are essential expenses that I will continue to pay for no matter what. These are products that can provide recession proof residual income.

The second key is leverage; J Paul Getty said it best. “I would rather have 1% of the efforts of 100 men than 100% of my own.” If you asked any millionaire how they made their fortune, you can be assured in some way leverage helped them create their success. One man can only produce a certain amount of results but there is no limit to what a team of people can achieve.

The missing piece to this puzzle is “how do we” or “how do you” put all of this information together to work for you.

The solution is right in front of you. Recent deregulation of public utilities has provided us with a unique opportunity to turn these monthly expenses into monthly commissions.

Ask yourself these questions.

Are you making enough money?
Do you like how much you work?
Is your retirement taken care of?

Let me start by saying UCI seems to be a very solid company. I have not done extensive research but from what I know about it the founders are very reputable and have great credibility.

That being said here are my thoughts.

1. UCI only markets services in a few select states (currently Ohio, Michigan and a couple others). Yes they are adding states and moving into new areas. But right now your market is limited to a few select states. With the advantage of the internet, having more locations and more products to promote makes sense. Why limit yourself to just and a handful of states? Volume and leverage are the keys to massive success sin this industry.  Their are other companies which offer the same services and more, reaching not only other states but other countries as well.
2. Utility Choice International only sells one product, energy. Here are my thoughts. If I am working with someone and signing them up for home energy, I already have a customer who trusts me and likes what I can provide them. Why would I want to limit myself to just providing home energy. When I could provide and earn monthly residual commissions on multiple services to that one customer. Why not also provide them, home phone, cell phone, video phone, high speed internet, home security, digital phone, and more. This just makes sense, with a larger product line up you are assured more services and more residual income.
3. UCI is a start-up. Yes I know the provider has been around 30 plus years, and the founders have a combined over 100 years experience in this industry. But the facts remains the business opportunity is not even a year old yet.  This can be a good thing, but it can also be very bad. An overwhelming 90% of all new Network Marketing Companies fail in their first 5 years. If they make it you would be positioned good in 5 years there is no doubt about that (provided you get to work and overcome the hurdles involved with a start-up). But if they don’t you wasted 5 years of your life and will have to start over from nothing somewhere else. My suggestion is to look for a proven, solid, company with a track record for success. What I am going to show you is a company that has been in this game 17 years, has made many millionaires and 7 figure annual incomes. I don’t know about you but my life is too short to waste anytime, I need something I am sure will be here in 5 years.
4. UCI being new also lacks credibility, even though the founders are very established the company has no history. There is no long term record of events for the company, there is no history of regular commission checks being on-time and accurate. Only time will tell exactly how this company proves itself in our marketplace.
5. UCI being new also lacks some of the tools and training a more established company will have in place. These are powerful things to assure new reps have everything at their fingertips to be successful. For a seasoned veteran in this industry lack of these tools is no big deal. But to a new rep, this can be detrimental to their success.
6. UCI being new also lacks national recognition and exposure. Think of this like this. If I showed you two companies.

• Company 1 Brand New Start-Up with great leadership, launched in a handful of states.
• Company 2 17 track record of success, record growth the ;last 3 years in a row, launched in over 20 countries, national television exposure on NBC’s hot series “The Celebrity Apprentice“, endorsements by billionaire Donald Trump, over 7 essential services to promote which we all use and pay for every month, sell’s out huge venues for their International Training Conventions (over 20k people will attended our latest event at Quicken Loan’s Arena in Cleveland), in past events  Mr Donald Trump has actually been our keynote speaker many 6 and 7 figure income earners, andthe last goes on and on,

I won’t bore you with any more details.
You owe it to yourself to take a look what I am talking about.
Don’t be the guy sitting there in 5 years wishing he would of taken 30 minutes to speak with me and look at my company.

I joined ACN early in 2009, initially I only used my Internet marketing techniques to promote the business and we had great success. We built a team of over 100 people in our first 60 days. While we were having good success using internet marketing techniques, I found that not all of our team could duplicate using the same methods. Some did not have the knowledge or skill sets needed to be successful utilizing these techniques.  So there was an immediate need to find a method to help anyone no matter what their back ground or skill level become successful.

I plugged into the best and proven methods of success adding warm market, home meetings,  local market, and and local advertising techniques. We have now expanded and improved on these techniques to increase results in our fallen economy. We have a documented proven method for success which has taken leaders all the way to SVP where the income is staggering.

Now utilizing a mixture of these techniques we have created a powerhouse team packed with information and ideas for promoting ACN not only nationally, but internationally and locally right here in the greater Cleveland Ohio area.
